Local School Council Vacancies

We are aware of a massive area of opportunity, but we will need all of you to make change happen. Within our community, we have 44 Local School Council (LSC) Parent Vacancies and 5 Community Representative Vacancies. Teachers, staff, community members, and parents make up our Local School Councils, like all of us. Local School Councils help make policy decisions, select and evaluate principals and make suggestions on the school’s budget and curriculum. Our kids need us more than ever, and as community members and parents, we are responsible for providing them with the best academic experience our schools can offer.

We ask that you reach out to the school your children attend or your neighborhood school and have LAS DAMAS fill these vacancies. See the list of schools in our neighborhood that have empty chairs. If your school is not on the list, please let us know, and we can certainly add it. DAMAS, we understand this is a big ask, but our children depend on us! We cannot fail them!

You can obtain the application by visiting your local school, logging into CPS, searching for LSC, or contacting Bianca Magallanes (a dama in this group). Bianca can also help answer any questions that may come up during the application process. Let’s work together to fill these seats.
